We are thrilled to welcome two brand-new Trustees to Castlefield Forum. As a registered charity we are required to have a board of trustees, responsible for making sure the charity achieves what it was set out to do. It's an unpaid voluntary role, so it's a huge boost when people make time to join us.
Firstly, we welcome Nancy, currently the Head Gardener up on Castlefield Viaduct. She has a huge passion for Castlefield, and for gardening, green spaces and nature. Nancy is extremely well connected on the ‘green scene’ in Manchester, creating gardens with local groups and neighbourhoods, so we are absolutely delighted to have her expertise to help bolster our Clean and Green efforts.
We would also like to welcome Steven. A Castlefield resident since 2006, he is also actively involved with the Our Irwell community organisation, dedicated to protecting and promoting access to the River Irwell. He has also held trusteeships at Manchester Art Gallery, Contact Theatre, the People’s History Museum and Bridgewater Hall. Steven also brings professional knowledge of the world of corporate finance as a Chartered Accountant – though he keeps that quiet at parties!
With more people getting involved, we can do even greater things. We thrive when we attract great talent, and we will be opening up more trustee roles later this year.
Please make Nancy and Steven feel welcome.
