Have Your Say: Forum Events
We recently sent out a survey to find out more about what would suit you best regarding how we organise our public meetings and events.
We’ve done a summary of responses received, and the headlines are below.
From replies received we heard that:
34.2% of respondents have never attended one of our meetings.
69.2% told us they’d prefer a mixture of an agenda with speakers/presentations and informal events/get togethers.
the top three things that would encourage people to attend were : learning more about work of Castlefield Forum, to have a say on local issues, and to visit an interesting local venue
lots of suggestions were made about speakers - eg the Viaduct, Council updates, development plans, information about the canals/keeping the area clean
In terms of times for meetings - 92% preferred weekday evenings, and 53% Saturday mornings
the top three reasons people have been to past meetings were: to learn more about Castlefield Forum, to have a say locally, and to meet local representatives
other ideas given about improving community engagement include more frequent emails, sending reminders for meetings, some more relaxed/less formal meetings.
you also told us you’d like to have online access to slides from the meeting. And suggested ‘meet the neighbours’ events each year, an annual social event, or perhaps a Roman Gardens picnic!
If you missed the survey, do please continue to contact us with any other ideas. We are reviewing what you’ve told us and will take this into account moving forward.
