Spirit Of Castlefield
The Spirit of Castlefield action group is focused on building a deliverable vision for our community. It aims to support Castlefield Forum’s mission to be cleaner, greener, safer and better for all.
This vision aims to align with Manchester City Council and their partners ambitious ten year city plan and visitor economy strategy. Ensuring we can work collaboratively to make our vision come to life and realise the benefits for the community.
Background
In 2019 we worked with The National Trust on a project called ‘Spirit of Place’. The National Trust is a charity that cares for places of historic interest or natural beauty. One of the ways they do this is by revealing and sharing the significance of their properties and places, understanding their ‘spirit of place’ and why they are valued. Using their experience and expertise, they helped us connect with the community to understand what makes Castlefield unique, distinctive and cherished to the people that live, work and visit the area, capturing its ‘spirit of place’.
Spirit of Castlefield is the next phase that aims to build on this shared understanding to deliver short and long term improvements across all of Castlefield.
What are we aiming to achieve?
-
Work with the community, local stakeholders and partners to build a shared vision for the future of Castlefield
-
Build and develop the Castlefield brand
-
Identify new stakeholders that can help accelerate improvements to the neighbourhood for all that live, work and visit here
-
Deliver changes that enhance Castlefield’s sense of place
