Volunteers from LendLease spent a day gardening and tidying up in Castlefield this week.
Fortunately for us, the weather didn't put them off and they managed two great clean-up sessions by Merchants' Bridge in front of Barca, and in the Roman Gardens.
We'd like to say a huge thank you for all their efforts in the rain, and also to Barca for providing hot drinks and facilities during the day.
Lendlease organised this volunteering day as part of their Spirit of Place commitment, where they said:
"We will positively contribute to the communities we operate in, identifying social sustainability targets for each of our projects and performing against them, e.g. local employment,volunteering, and school engagement."
For Castlefield Forum members who also took part, it was a great way to meet some of the people working in our neighbourhood, who we might not normally come across.
