Clean & Green Castlefield
Last year, we introduced you to new Forum Trustee, Gary Rumens. Gary had previously set up the Castlefield Litter Pickers, and he and his team of volunteers have been working to keep Castlefield clean and tidy since early summer last year, becoming a new Forum Action Group in September.
Now, we are pleased to announce that the Litter Pickers have combined with our Gardening and Environment Group to become Clean & Green Castlefield.
So what does this all mean? Simply put, it means the group will now be doing gardening alongside regular litter picking events. They post details of their upcoming events on the Clean & Green Castlefield facebook page and anyone is welcome to come along to help out.
Many of you will know Beth Hopper who previously convened the Gardening and Environment group. Beth works as a Sister at MRI, and for the past 12 months she has worked tirelessly to care for her patients with little time to devote to anything else. Beth remains a Forum Trustee, but because of her lack of free time has stepped back from the action group. We'd like to thank her for the hours of planting and weeding she has previously organised, and for the many hours of selfless care she continues to provide for her patients.
She has left the group in great hands, however! Gary and his team of trusty volunteers will bring lots of energy and enthusiasm to the tasks at hand. If you'd like to get involved, email us here.
