This is a very uncertain time for all of us and with reports of empty supermarket shelves, social distancing and the need to self-isolate, we know that some of you will be getting anxious about how you will cope.
However, there is a lot of information available, and many people are keen to help. The council is planning a considerable diversion of its resources to provide essential support to individuals and communities, and our local councillors have asked us to send out these leaflets to as many people as we can reach:
As a quick link - MCC has a lot of information here: secure.manchester.gov.uk/info/500361/coronavirus
If you would like to help:
Please print out the relevant poster for your ward and display it in your building's communal areas, lifts etc. If possible, slip a copy under apartment doors to ensure that those who may be self-isolating are aware of the info available.
Set up a support network for your apartment building or street using WhatsApp or Facebook if there isn’t one already. Try to make sure everyone in your building/street is aware of your group.
Join www.Manchestercommunitycentral.org They've set up a Covid-19 Community Volunteering scheme to cover the whole city of Manchester, helping gather together the efforts of everyone to ensure that the most vulnerable people receive help and that all volunteers and recipients of support are safe.
Join the Castlefield, Britannia Basin & Hulme COVID-19 Support Group on Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/3220163194662976/
Above all, please remember to:
Follow the local and national government advice
